Working hard, but playing harder...

r.The ranger at the farm where we are volunteering alas a fantastic work ethos. We woke up to get out to replanting along the creek at 9am. A half hour break in the middle and by one we were finished for the day, free to do what we wanted. The afternoon consisted of hanging around the wool shed, having a chat, reheating curry, and a walk down to the beach, which to our surprise was much busier than assumed for this time of year, and for such a remote location. Back to the shed, a few word games (apples to apples - An American game i couldn't quite get the hang of!) 3 bean chilli for dinner and then ate evening began! We were allowed to set a campfire out the back of the hut using the old tin roof, and so it was time for toasted marshmallows, and homemade mulled wine!We all sat around the fire while (Chris and his boys) joined us, bearing two guitars and a ukulele. Songs from Maori, British and American descent were performed, and many of us took turns bearing our talents. Many a song later it was time to hit the sack ready for tomorrow!
